Skill in developing andmaintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.Performs selected medical assistant and administrative duties as assigned;Works with Customer Service Representative to ensure quality patient care and scheduling;Works with physician staff to ensure quality patient care;Gives injections;Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient histories, vital signs, medication history, allergies and immunizations;Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary supplies and instruments;Performs phlebotomies and prepares lab orders for hospital;Applies dressings and conducts pulse oximeter tests;Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization;Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments as requested;Provides general information on departmental policies and procedures as requested;Orders and maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment;Maintains patient files, records and other information, including documentation into patient's electronic medical record;Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested;Provides appropriate information regarding patient billing information to billing department;Utilizes the practice's EMR as trained including proper documentation of all procedures performed and all patient education materials provided to patient;Adhere to HIPAA privacy policies and maintain patient confidentiality;Assists physicians in retrieving lab and X-ray results as requested;Ensure all patient diagnostic orders are printed and distributed correctly on a daily basis;Maintain all procedure equipment according to company guidelines - including sterilization of equipment;Maintain patient/physician communication daily;Provide excellent patient customer service;Performs related work as requested/required.GED or High School Equivalent and preferred graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.Certification from any Medical Assistant School or two years work experience required.AHA or ARC BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification Required.
