Job Summary:
Social services managers are responsible for case management to include family support, siblings at multiple schools, and wrap around services available and provided through the FNSBSD or other local agencies.
Salary : Grade 6 $68,548.48 - $97,710.08 (Depending on experience) Work Day : 8 hours Work Year : 10 months Bargaining Unit:

Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position): Master's degree in social work, counseling services, child psychology, or human services. Must have or be eligible to obtain within 60 days of employment an Alaska State Licensure, such as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
or
an Alaska Type C Certificate with an endorsement in school counseling, school social work, or related area. Must demonstrate knowledge/experience of the effects of trauma and poverty on children currently experiencing trauma. Experience in child advocacy and parent outreach with school age children. Adept at communicating with students and/or parents in crisis, making a variety of community social connections for students, parents, and teachers. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must have working knowledge of federal laws and rules regarding child welfare in public schools. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to use a computer for correspondence, data tracking, and reporting. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with school staff and families. Knowledge of health, social services, legal, and other general/local services available in Fairbanks. Strong understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles. Must hold a valid Alaska driver's license, current insurance and vehicle registration.
