SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced
Assistant MEP Project Manager
with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing data center environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. You will be responsible for partnering with the project manager from bid preparation through final client acceptance for the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes of work. As well as leading, coaching, and mentoring project team members.
Responsibilities:
Perform cost control and financial management Work with Preconstruction on project estimate and schedule Coordinate scopes of work Review and compile pay applications, change requests, and other project financial documentation Partner with the Project Manager or Construction Executive
Draft client proposals Contract administration and management Award subcontracts Provide direction to the project team for safe and timely project completion
Act as liaison for project engineers, mentor, and coach others Provide job assignments and manage career development Direct responsibilities and guide Field Engineer(s) and Project Engineer(s) Manage subcontractors and suppliers for the project
Oversee budget for and make recommendations for subcontractors and trade partners Lead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partners Facilitate and lead meetings between subcontractors related to project coordination Lead and directe the 3-D coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to the installation Direct and manage the commissioning process on the project inclusive of the start-up plan, COT, commissioning schedule, and functional testing Lead all activities required in the project closeout inclusive of operations and maintenance manuals, model turnover, and training Qualifications:
Minimum five years of construction experience, preferably experience with a Mechanical Contractor Shown ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level Shown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback Ability to travel up to 100% Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans and their intended use Proven ability to fulfill development to close responsibilities for complex projects Current driver's license Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience
