Industry leading specialty manufacturing company in the Newburyport, MA area. The position is a key leadership role within the organization and reports to Executive Level Finance Leadership. Please note, this is an on-site 5 days per week position.
Job Description
This position reports directly to Executive Level Finance Leadership and is responsible for all Operational/Manufacturing Accounting across Corporate HQ and multiple different business units and subsidiaries. In addition to leading Costing/Inventory, this role also leads the transactional (AP, AR) and Gernal Accounting function. Lead company-wide inventory accounting, offering support to plant locations on inventory and costing issues, while advising on proper procedures. Monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, performing detailed reconciliations for assigned accounts and ensuring accurate and timely completion. Monthly analysis of balance sheet accounts within assigned functions to ensure their accuracy and integrity. Support Executive Level Finance Leadership in managing quarterly and year-end audits conducted by third-party public accounting firms, ensuring timely and positive outcomes. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable and receivable departments, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-controlled processes. Manage the company's credit, collection, and cash application functions to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and robust internal controls. Support various financial, tax, bank, and insurance audits, including the preparation of external audit materials and financial reporting. Facilitate the preparation and submission of all periodic tax and statutory filings, such as sales and use taxes, property and excise taxes, franchise and annual reports, and 1099 filings. Monitor and analyze departmental work to identify opportunities for process improvements and resource optimization, with a focus on meeting critical deadlines efficiently and accurately. Assist in the development, implementation, and training of new or automated systems. Deliver ad-hoc financial analyses to support decision-making and explain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial variances, particularly related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS). Perform additional duties as assigned or required. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management Master's Degree preferred, not essential 10 + years of progressive Accounting tenure within the Manufacturing Sector Minimum 5 - 7 + years of tenure in a Finance Leadership role ERP: EPICOR a plus, Strong Microsoft Excel Skills Costing/Inventory Accounting Understanding Essential What's on Offer
This position is a key Accounting leadership position within the company, and will be compensated with the following:
Base Salary: $130,000 - $140,000 Annual Bonus Eligibility 401k plan PTO Insurance Coverage: Health, Dental, Vision Additional company benefits Opportunity for career progression Training and Development
