Reporting to the Global Marketing Director for Bloomsbury Digital Resources, the
Senior Marketing Manager, Bloomsbury Collections
will be a dynamic and creative self-starter tasked with developing and implementing the marketing strategy for our academic eBook platform. Working in close coordination with the sales team, the focus is on precisely targeted marketing campaigns that drive leads generation, implementing regional marketing initiatives across the globe, and expanding brand awareness.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
Lead strategic planning, creation, execution, and oversight of the global marketing plan for Bloomsbury Collections, ensuring financial targets are met/exceeded. Work in close association with the sales, editorial, and product management teams to drive growth and brand awareness for titles and collections on the platform. Manage an associate marketer who will provide a point of collaboration and support as this team works to execute the plan and drive leads and sales. Leads Generation
Develop and execute targeted strategies to attract and help convert leads across libraries, academic institutions, and research organizations. Collaborate with sales teams to align marketing initiatives with lead qualification goals. Utilize CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and reporting (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, Mailchimp) to track, nurture, and report on leads through the sales funnel. Analyze lead performance metrics to optimize campaigns and ensure strong ROI. Regional Marketing
Design and execute tailored regional marketing strategies to address the unique needs of markets in the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa. Partner with regional sales teams to adapt global campaigns for local audiences, ensuring cultural and institutional relevance. Monitor regional market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform strategic adjustments. Key Campaigns
Plan and oversee high-impact marketing campaigns, including product launches, author communication, conference promotion, and content marketing efforts. Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling collateral, including case studies, webinars, and email campaigns. Manage digital channels, such as paid ads, social media, and SEO, to amplify campaign reach and engagement. Measure campaign performance using KPIs such as traffic, conversion rates, and provide actionable insights for improvement. Understand the market and the competitive landscape to plan and respond appropriately. Requirements
7+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within academic publishing or education. Proven track record in lead generation and managing regional marketing initiatives. Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple campaigns and deadlines. Experience with reporting and analytics systems preferred but not required (Salesforce, Tableau, Google Analytics) Data-driven mindset with experience analyzing campaign metrics and making data-informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and present to internal and external stakeholders.
