GDS Associates, Inc. has an immediate and challenging opportunity for a
Project Manager Rates and Financial Analysis
in the Distribution Services Department based out of the Marietta, GA office. This position will conduct valuable analysis in a wide range of areas including cost of service, rate development and evaluation, and general financial analysis. Independently develop and utilize detailed spreadsheets and computer models for rate and cost of service evaluation, as well as financial, statistical, and demand-side management analysis. Conduct analysis and project management at the direction of the Managing Partner. Manage cost of service, rate development, and financial analysis projects including model development and project reporting. Coordinate and direct the activities of certain department staff that conduct project analysis. Develop technical project reports and PowerPoint presentations for clients. Interact with GDS clients to discuss project issues, collect project data and other pertinent information, and present project results. Perform research on matters such as electric utility rates and marketing programs, and results of regulatory proceedings. Utilize programs such as SAS and Excel to perform statistical analysis of electric load, customer billing, and cost data. Develop proposal and marketing material targeted to bringing in new business. The Distribution Services Department provides clients with expertise primarily in the areas of electric utility cost of service, rate design, load forecasting, benefit-cost analysis of utility programs and other areas including financial forecasts, evaluation of service policies, competitive analyses, and other financial matters. These core services of the firm are utilized by clients to ensure that their rates for the sale of electricity are sufficient to meet their financial requirements, recover cost in an equitable manner and help ensure that they are competitive as possible with other electric suppliers and energy sources. In addition, services provided by the Department assist clients in their planning for future resource requirements and in developing cost-beneficial energy efficiency and marketing programs.
Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or Economics. (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Advanced degree and/or certification (e.g., Professional Engineering, Certified Public Accountant) preferred. Experience in electric utility cost of service, rate design, as well as utility economic and financial analysis. 7 years work experience in the utility industry. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access). Effective oral/written communication skills for working with clients. Ability to manage cost of service and rate projects, multiple priorities, and deadlines. Demonstrated supervisory skills. Working knowledge of SAS or similar statistical software.

Salary is determined by various factors, including butnot limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education,knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specificaffordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation rangefor this position is $121,100- $145,000 (annualized USD). The typical salaryrange for this position is just one component of the firm's total compensationpackage.
