About Our Client
My client is a well-established and growing commercial general contractor based in Freeburg, IL. They are dedicated to delivering quality, on-time project completions with a focus on ultimate client satisfaction and are looking to add a new Project Manager/Estimator to their team in accordance with a robust backlog for 2024/2025 and beyond! Average project size is $500K-$10M and 60% of project bids are pre-negotiated with a repeat client base. Job Description
Develop labor, material, and time management projections. Collaborate with subcontractors to analyze project details and costs. Perform detailed takeoff estimates for subcontractor bids. Create project schedules and estimate durations. Work closely with Project Supervisors throughout the project, including reviewing scope, budgeting, and pricing. Record project and unit costs accurately. Assist in defining scheduling requirements with architects, subcontractors, and owners. Build relationships and generate interest from bidders in various markets. Identify and invite qualified subcontractors to bid. Create and update quantity take-offs and keep current with material pricing. Maintain and update the subcontractor bid list. Conduct monthly project reviews for billing, labor expenses, and financial reports. Learn and utilize employer estimating templates and programs. Oversee preconstruction meetings and estimating for assigned projects. Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential customers. Review proposals, blueprints, and specifications to determine labor, material, and time requirements. Organize and store project documents and information systematically. Validate subcontractor proposals and bids. Attend pre-bid site walkthroughs. Communicate transparently with project supervisors regarding price changes. The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, or Construction Engineering. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Experience with or willingness to learn Procore. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask and work under time constraints. Adaptability to changing scenarios. Professional demeanor with co-workers and clients. Excellent organizational skills.
