GENERAL SUMMARY
The Development Program Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting New London Hospital's fundraising initiatives by managing donor relationships and ensuring data integrity. This position focuses on organizing, managing, and executing key events, particularly Hospital Days, a historical community fundraising event, while also fostering a culture of philanthropy. The coordinator serves as the primary liaison with the Dartmouth Health Healthcare and Medical Advancement services team to guarantee the accuracy and quality of donor data as it pertains to New London Hospital.
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Event Coordination and Management Organize, manage, and execute key fundraising events, particularly Hospital Days, along with donor cultivation and stewardship events to strengthen donor relationships and engagement. Collaborate with community partners and internal staff to create meaningful event experiences that align with organizational goals and community interests. Develop event plans, track budgets, and manage vendor relationships to ensure successful execution and community engagement. Lead post-event activities, including debrief meetings and recognition of key constituents, while maintaining strong relationships with event sponsors for effective stewardship. Develop and execute a comprehensive sponsorship solicitation strategy, utilizing direct mail, email, phone calls, and in-person meetings. Identify, cultivate, and steward current and prospective donors and sponsors to support fundraising initiatives, fostering relationships that enhance donor engagement and participation. Data Management and Maintenance
Act as the primary liaison with the Dartmouth Health Healthcare and Medical Advancement Services team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor data as it pertains to New London Hospital. Oversee the quality of donor data processing, verifying that all entries related to financial transactions, event participation, and donor correspondence are accurate and compliant with established standards. Request and review customized queries and reports generated by the Dartmouth Health Advancement team to ensure the accuracy of data for development activities, supporting performance analysis and donor communications. Collaborate with the Dartmouth Health Healthcare and Medical Advancement Services team to maintain effective gift processing procedures and coordinate the coding of appeals and solicitations for streamlined tracking and reporting of donor interactions. Donor Relations
Maintain donor relations by ensuring accurate and timely recording, receipting, invoicing, and acknowledgment of gifts and pledges. Track donor relations and stewardship activities in the established databases to enhance relationships and increase the likelihood of continued contributions. Provide support in the creation and distribution of donor communications. Identify and capture data about donors for cultivation purposes, including their backgrounds and charitable interests. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices is a plus.
Experience
Three years of administrative experience in a related field, with a high degree of autonomy. Experience in a non-profit setting preferred. Minimum of two years planning and executing successful events.
Education
Associate's degree or the equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
