How you make a difference
The Dentistis responsible forprovidingdental services to inmate patients within the institution they are assigned to, while adhering to the security regulations of the facility. Theyare required tomaintainaccurateandtimelydocumentation of their services and provide it to the director or designee to ensure compliance with clientcontractand proper compensation for servicesrendered.
Key Responsibilities
Provides dental care and treatment to referred patientsin accordance withfacility regulations and standards.
Performs routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
Evaluates patients' dental care needs and makes clinicallyappropriate recommendations.
Takes impressions for dental appliances and instructs patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
Maintainsaccurateand confidential patient records andprovidesin-service training for health staff members.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.
Experience
One year of experience in general dentistry preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Must have and maintain current licensure as a dentist within the state of employment.
Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.
