Description: The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District, an award winning, Central Monmouth, K-8 school district with a tradition of excellence in education, is seeking a Data Systems Specialist for the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District with the following qualifications:
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Must have experience with the Genesis Student Information, Human Resource, Payroll, Budget and Accounting Systems, or equivalent Minimum of five (5) years proven experience in database structure and design Must have experience with NJ state reporting and reports Ability to quickly learn new systems and support them Possess the organizational and time management skills necessary to effectively manage concurrent projects, parallel tasks and meet deadlines Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory and user management Knowledge of data backups and recovery Such other alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable Ability to work flexible hours to complete technology maintenance, updates, upgrades, installations, or projects that cannot be performed during regular business hours due to potential downtime Responsibilities:
1. Data Management
Oversees and manages confidential data within student and staff data Verifies data entered by end users to ensure accuracy and consistency Creates spreadsheets for staff to gather, input, and analyze data 2. Data Integration
Manages the import/export of confidential data between the district and other third-party data systems Ensures seamless data transfer and integration across platforms 3. Database Management
Manages and controls database tuning to optimize performance Oversees hardware integration to support database functionality 4. Reporting
Collects and submits district data to meet local, state, and federal reporting requirements Prepares and distributes necessary data files and reports 5.
Collaboration and Support
Works collaboratively with the Director of Information Systems and other school/district administrators to achieve IT-related goals and initiatives Assists administrative and secretarial staff with record-keeping queries and procedures Conduct training sessions for administrative and instructional staff 6.
User Support and Technical Assistance
Provides training and technical support to users of the information system Troubleshoots and resolves issues reported by faculty, staff, and parents Assists in repairing and troubleshooting daily networking, software, printer, and hardware issues 7.
Network Support
Performs server updates, maintenance, and configuration Assistance with Microsoft Active Directory and user management Manage on and offsite backups of data and systems 8. Additional Duties
Performs any and all other reasonable duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Director of Information Systems, or designee
Terms of Employment: Twelve months
