Open Systems Technologies Corporation is seeking an experienced

System Engineer

to lead the engineering work for an on-premise system with a mission operations team. The team is involved in the operation and sustainment of multiple operational cloud and on-premise deployed geospatial solutions. A successful candidate will have experience with the installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of this on-premise system. The candidate will need to be a self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities will involve taking a leadership role in the administration, configuration, and deployment of the mission capability; working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot and respond to user INCs (Incident Reports); proactively recommending configuration changes to help improve system performance; deploying security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments; authoring and updating operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs; and migrating system and software packages to RHEL 9.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: CLEARANCE: Must currently possess an active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain & maintain a Polygraph post-hire DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher) Requires BS degree and minimum 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience; OR additional years of experience in lieu of degree Self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks in an effective manner Extensive experience configuring and deploying Linux operating systems Experience migrating systems and software packages to RHEL 9 Experience performing security updates (running and applying patches) Linux system administration experience: provisioning end users Experience scripting for administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation Experience using DevOps processes and technologies Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development, and SW Sustainment Practices PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Red Hat certification(s) Linux certification(s) Experience using AWS/Cloud technologies Experience implementing automation solutions to reduce engineering and/or end-user labor time Team Collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, MS Teams/RocketChat) Benefits OST is an Equal Opportunity Employer and has been operating since 1996 providing support on various contracts with Government agencies.
