Wound Care Nurse - Outpatient

Coordinates treatment to provide comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care including goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation and outcomes for patients throughout the organization. Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies. Serves as a resource for physicians and staff.

Graduate of an approved nursing program, BSN preferred Current licensure as a professional registered nurse in Missouri or licensure eligible required Two years experience in wound care preferred Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse Certification (WCON) required or currently enrolled in an accredited wound nursing education program and successful completion of wound certification within two years of hire required Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people Excellent communication skills Able to serve as an example to others Maintains BLS
