Speech Language Pathologist (
SLP) Qualifications:
Musthave a master's degree from an approved curriculum in speech pathology, or itsequivalent Musthave a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC/SLP) from the AmericanSpeech/Language/Hearing Association or be eligible for a Clinical FellowshipYear (CFY) Mustbe licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a speech-languagepathologist or CFY in the state of Prior experience in Speech Therapy, preferred Member of state and national American Speech and HearingAssociation, preferred Professional attitude and appearance Proficientadministrative and public relations skills Thoroughknowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in speechtherapy Thoroughknowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessaryprecautionary and remedial measures Abilityto establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and toobtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed Abilityto establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff andother personnel Abilityto understand, interpret, and adopt a physician's written or oral directionsand to recommend treatment programs and outline expected benefits regardingspeech therapy Demonstrateemotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients andemployees Mustmaintain patient and employee confidentiality Knowledgeof Medicare and third party reimbursement, preferred
