Position Summary
Chord Energy is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Solutions Team. This individual must have a strong foundation in data engineering and experience building data analytics solutions. The successful candidate will work with Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Airbyte, DBT or similar data pipeline tools, and will have proficiency in SQL and Python. The role will also work with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to build and maintain analytics dashboards. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining robust data architecture, as well as ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our data pipelines. This position is located in downtown Houston and will report to the Data Solutions Manager within the IT Department. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions Develop, test, and maintain ETL processes using tools like Azure Data Factory, Airbyte, and DBT (or other data pipeline tools) Ensure data pipelines are reliable, efficient, and capable of handling large-scale data processing Collaborate with data analysts to understand data requirements and implement solutions to meet requirements Clean, transform, and structure data to meet business needs and facilitate analytics Work with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to build and maintain analytics dashboards Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand reporting needs and ensure data solutions meet business requirements Document data architecture, processes, and data pipelines to ensure knowledge sharing Prepare regular reports on data pipeline performance and usage This job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or equivalent experience in related fields 2 years of experience in data engineering Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Services as they relate to data management Proficiency in Python and SQL Experience with data pipeline tools such as Airbyte, DBT Experience with upstream Oil & Gas data and processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company Ability to meet deadlines Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
