The Plant Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the manufacturing plant. They will ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, and compliance with financial regulations.

Job Description

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for the plant. Provide cost analysis and recommend cost-saving opportunities. Track plant expenses and ensure accurate allocations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets and explain variances.

Cost Accounting:

Maintain and analyze standard costs, bill of materials (BOM), and inventory valuations. Perform variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and recommend corrective actions. Reconcile physical inventory and cycle counts to the general ledger.

Operational Support:

Work closely with plant managers to understand operational impacts on financial results. Support the plant in making data-driven decisions by providing financial insights.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assist in audits, both internal and external. Implement improvements in accounting processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Financial Systems:

Use ERP systems to record and analyze financial transactions. Train plant staff on financial procedures and systems as needed.

Capital Expenditure (CapEx):

Track and report on capital projects and related costs. Provide ROI analysis on new equipment or major plant investments.

The Successful Applicant

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience:

3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment. Skills:

Strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), understanding of cost accounting principles, attention to detail.

What's on Offer

Target compensation for the Plant Accountant is $77,000 - $100,000 base salary + 10% Bonus.
