Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records for the organization including general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions and reconciliations. This role will have a direct opportunity to impact our financial operations, help scale our processes and uphold the highest standards of financial accountability. As a key member of the finance team, you will support the Controller and CFO in driving financial initiatives to meet the company's strategic goals.
Core Responsibilities
Record to Report Record journal entries, and complete balance sheet reconciliations including but not limited to prepaid expenses, fixed assets, right-of-use assets, accrued expenses. Complete month-end closing procedures & reporting, providing commentary on assigned flux analyses, and assist with financial statement preparation. Assist with annual audit, income tax, and other financial engagements and projects. Help develop, maintain, and improve upon operating processes and internal controls. Order to Cash
Review and process customer contracts, revenue records, and invoices for accuracy and to ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP standards and guidelines. Prepare, analyze, and revenue operating metrics and reporting as assigned. Accurately apply customer payments to client records and assist with customer outreach processes. Procure to Pay
Monitor vendor relationship repositories and provide professional and timely correspondence. Ensure timely and accurate entry of purchase orders, vendor bills, and employee expense reports. Prepare weekly vendor payment proposals to management for disbursements. Other duties & projects assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA a plus. 3+ years of experience in a staff accountant role; SaaS or technology experience strongly preferred. Experience with SaaS business metrics and performance drivers. Knowledge of financial systems (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel, QuickBooks, BI tools) and database management. Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines, strong ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities. A commitment to excellence, ethics, and integrity. Highly organized, accurate, detail-oriented, and takes pride in the quality of their work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to succinctly summarize financial information to management and external stakeholders.
Base Salary
$65,000 - $80,000
Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
