Job Summary We seek a highly skilled and experienced Building Automation Assistant Project Manager to join our San Diego, CA team. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical or electrical engineering background, with expertise in building automation systems (BAS), including BACnet and DDC controls. You will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of BAS projects from design through completion, working closely with project managers and field teams.
Key Responsibilities Assist the Project Manager in overseeing building automation system (BAS) projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Review project designs, specifications, and submittals and assist in coordinating installation plans with field teams and contractors. Utilize AutoCAD and Visio for project documentation, ensuring accurate as-built drawings and system layouts. Manage and troubleshoot BAS integrations, including systems like BACnet, DDC controls, Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, and Johnson Controls Metasys. Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements and assist in managing change orders, procurement, and cost control. Maintain a local and stable work history, showing a commitment to the region and consistent professional growth. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (EIT or PE license is a plus). Minimum of 3 years of experience building automation or control systems, with a stable work history. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio for design and documentation. Knowledge of BACnet, DDC controls, and experience working with various control systems (Tridium Niagara, Distech, ALC, Alerton, Johnson Controls Metasys, and Schneider Electric). Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with MS Project or similar project management software. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and integrating complex BAS systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members, vendors, and clients.
