Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will assist the Controller and VP of Finance with the preparation of financial reports. This position is also accountable for the ongoing analysis of process costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting and Audit: Assist Controller in monthly and year-end close. Supports audit activities. Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close. Tie and post Payroll related data. Assist controller with account reconcilement and preparation of schedules. Record Fixed assets, CIP, and record depreciation and amortization, monthly. Capital Projects Review Operational & Cost Accounting:
Work with production operations to develop costing standards and review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and variances. Develop and maintain system to apply direct labor, indirect labor, and factory overhead to manufactured parts. Development and maintain system for work center and related reporting for operations. Determine costing rates for the various work centers at various levels of production. Update applied overhead rates appropriately based on production forecast. Assist and ERP Implementation. Review and post work orders, as needed. Monthly factory overhead absorption analysis. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist RFQ team when required. Assist with Accounts Payable, as needed. Reports and analysis as requested. Post packing slips as needed. Support ERP Implementation. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred. 3-5 years of progressive finance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting standards. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (experience with EPICOR is a plus). Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a demanding environment. Exceptional attention to detail. Experience working collaboratively with cross- functional teams.
