Job Summary:
The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct all aspects of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruitment and talent management; administer compensation plans and payroll; manage and improve the benefits portfolio; ensure compliance with current federal and state employment law as integrated within company policies and practices; develop employee engagement programs and manage employee relations (including disciplinary action), ensure performance management systems focus on tangible quality and results; build strong employee retention models; implement training and development initiatives and work alongside the corporate team in serving the needs of the business through a strongly integrated HR presence.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations. Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Introduce training and development programs for all employees that tie back to the strategic plan for the business, ensure career development and succession planning is in place. Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent. Collaborates with Business manager & Business Strategist in creating learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees. Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred. Human Resources experience in Construction or related field strongly preferred. 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, compliance and regulations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired. Benefits:
