CEI Contract Support Specialist - Orlando, FL
Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a
Contract Support Specialist
to join our growing team in Florida to support our Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) team. The CSS will perform basic contract administration functions for civil transportation projects for FDOT. The CSS will work under the supervision of the Project Administrator and Senior Project Engineer. This is a full-time position. The CSS will need to travel to FDOT Offices and Project Offices.
Responsibilities Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing). Ability to analyze contract quantities to prevent overruns and underruns. Ability to become proficient in Trimble Business Center - Heavy Construction Edition (HCE) or approved surface to surface comparison software and Engineering Menu. Proficiency in the knowledge and expertise to:
Understand which surfaces are needed from the designer. Understand the survey data from the field. Prepare the survey data as needed for use in the software. Generate accurate earthwork quantities from the software.
Responsible for exercising independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to the office aspects of the project. Responsible for performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator. Responsible for familiarity with the Department's Procedures covering the project related duties as stated above and proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform those duties. Knowledge of SiteManager/PrC. Proficient use of Microsoft Programs including Word and Excel including creating spreadsheets with formulas. Qualifications
A valid Driver's License is required with a safe driving record and must complete a pre-employment screening. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. ICE is a drug-free workplace. Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent. For personnel with engineering, engineering technology, and construction management degrees:
No prior experience is required.
For personnel without engineering, engineering technology or construction management degrees:
Four (4) years of CEI experience having performed/assisted in project related duties (i.e., Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) System input, progress and final estimates, EEO compliance, processing Construction Contract changes, etc.); or Two (2) years of experience with 3D Modeling and CADD.
CTQP Final Estimates Level II required.
Physical Demands
This position requires minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds sometimes on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions not limited to loud noise levels, high dust and dirt, and extreme temperature. The employee must be able to visually examine construction materials and finished structures and work in various types of weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, hazards of highway construction sites and heavy equipment.
Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time (40 hours per week). Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing one unpaid hour for lunch each day. While overtime is generally not anticipated, occasional projects or deadlines may necessitate additional hours, compensated according to company policy. Flexible schedules may be available with prior approval from the immediate supervisor. Work schedules may vary based on project demands.
