We are seeking a highly skilled, medically focused Optometrist to join our expanding team. In this role, you will not only act as the gatekeeper for our ophthalmologists, ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care. You will handle a high volume of patients, focusing on medical optometry, including cataract and glaucoma follow-ups, ocular disease management, and screenings for conditions appropriate for your license.

We are a leading eye care provider in Northeast Florida with 5 locations and 16 eye care providers. This is a unique practice opportunity. The new associate will have the full support of the entire organization. The practice is built on each new associate achieving professional and personal success. The practice is 47 years old and is not affiliated with private equity. We are an independent minded and successfully run practice.
We have a fully integrated EHR with both clinical and practice management components.
Jacksonville is a wonderful community along the St Johns River and beautiful Atlantic Coast. The city is thriving and growing; with beautiful weather, an excellent airport and numerous recreational activities. There are many resort areas within easy driving distance as well. The new associate can be financially successful and enjoy a well-rounded lifestyle with minimal weekend obligations. Travel requirements are modest, with 20 miles being the greatest potential travel distance between clinics.

The Optometrist (OD) position is performed in a traditional, full-scope office environment and may require local travel, on a same day basis. In this role, you will act as the gatekeeper for our ophthalmologists, ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care You will handle a high volume of patients, focusing on medical optometry, including cataract and glaucoma follow-ups, ocular disease management, and screenings for conditions appropriate for your license Conduct medically-focused eye exams and follow-ups, including managing patients with cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetes Handle a patient volume of 30 to 40 patients per day with support from scribes and technicians Collaborate with ophthalmologists to ensure optimal use of surgical resources Manage ocular disease and perform pre- and post-operative care Meet or exceed capitated population goals to achieve significant performance bonuses Family Eye Care and Contact lens management Manage ocular disease and perform pre- and post-operative care. Your goal with the full support of the entire organization will be to build your practice from traditional family eyecare, contact lens management to medically focused eye exams.

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution Experience in medical optometry and ocular disease management Routine and Family eyecare, along with contact lens management a must Ability to manage a high patient volume efficiently Excellent communication and collaboration skills Active, unrestricted Florida OD license
