Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $70,500 - $103,400 We are seeking a highly motivated drug discovery scientist to join our team to contribute to the highly visible drug discovery research in RNA therapeutics (RNATx). The RNATx organization, part of Lilly Genetic Medicine (LGM), is an innovation-focused group working to identify, develop and apply innovative technologies to deliver next generation drugs to our patients around the world. Our collaborative environment brings together scientists and experts from various organizations to accelerate drug discovery. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with lab and computational scientists to facilitate the data capture, data cleaning/analysis, data storage, workflow improvement. These data will be critical for the development of AI/machine learning algorithms for RNATx. Responsibilities: Collaborate with partners in developing and executing a cohesive data collection, analysis, storage, and analysis plan for RNATx Collaborate with lab scientists to streamline instrument data collection and standardization Partner with project team scientists in the analysis of in silico, in vitro, and in vivo data and the generation of standard data analysis and visualization reports Act as a bridge between lab scientists and machine learning experts and contribute to the development of overall data, ML, and AI strategy for RNATx Basic Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field. Additional Skills/Preferences: Demonstrated wet-lab expertise in chemistry, genetics, and molecular biology Proven experience in processing, organizing, analyzing and visualizing complex data and information from disparate sources Experience in data extraction and manipulation (e.g. SQL, GraphQL) Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript Self-driven and highly motivated individual eager to accomplish goals through effective collaboration Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate across different cultures in the global scientific community A solid understanding of data science methodologies and application of these in solving drug discovery problems Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners Proficient in data analysis and reporting Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues Comprehensive knowledge of nucleic acid, cellular and/or molecular biology Understanding of the biological principals underlying RNAi based therapeutics Lilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions.
