Culinary Administrative Instructor

Essential Functions:

The Culinary Administrative Instructor oversees coordinating and executing all culinary operational needs. Cooks, performing quality control on food leaving the kitchen and ordering inventory to keep up with the demand of internal and external customers. Ability to develop trust with various age demographics. Managing event creation, with external stakeholders to ensure the event meets all required exceptions and post-event survey review. Work in conjunction with the Executive Chef to design meals while meeting all customers’ expectations. Sources affordable suppliers and sets the price for menu items in conjunction with the Executive Chef. Track kitchen finances to identify areas of potential waste. Other duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Organize and oversee culinary courses, ensuring schedules are maintained and instructors are prepared.
  • Assist students with inquiries, registrations, and general program information.
  • Collaborate with instructors to develop and update course materials.
  • Coordinate culinary events, workshops, and guest chef demonstrations.
  • Prepare reports detailing the utilization and impact of grants received for the program.
  • Handle the use of procurement cards for purchasing supplies and equipment.
  • Create and process invoices for program-related expenses and services.
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and assessments throughout the program.
  • Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, grades, and certifications.

Requirements

Culinary Administrative Instructor:

  • Co-create with Executive Chef culinary program objectives and outcomes
  • Develop course documents i.e., PowerPoint, handouts, and learning aids
  • Create documents that help promote the Culinary Program i.e., Flyers/handouts
  • Share best practices with peers and gather insights on processes that may be able to be incorporated into the program’s curriculum
  • Successfully develop outcome data (Create and manage attendance) on the program’s successes and share with leadership as needed

Culinary Administrative Instructor skills and qualifications:

  • Detail oriented
  • Willing to work at a fast pace when needed
  • Can work on your own with limited directions
  • Experience with specific computer programs such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Operations and Process Focused
  • Work on your own once the direction has been given
  • Interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude, a willingness to provide exceptional service and to lead
  • Ability to build trust with internal and external customers
  • Key eye for Attention to detail
  • Financial and Budgeting experience a must
  • Ability to think quickly in high-stress time
  • Able to Complete all Boys and Girl Club internal training on time with a passing score
  • Physical stamina to withstand a full shift potential on their feet for long periods
  • Able to lift items to 40 pounds
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • A valid Florida Driver’s License is required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position generally works Monday - Friday, 12 PM – 5 PM, but may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary. Work is conducted indoors and outdoors.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods; bending and squatting on occasion
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to hear at a normal conversational level
  • Ability to maintain a high energy level when necessary
  • High degree of emotional intelligence
