Test Engineer

Accelsius is looking for a seasoned and experienced Test Engineer to help drive the design and implementation of manufacturing test processes specifically associated with product control systems and final manufacturing system test in advance of rapid product and company growth. This position reports directly to the Operations Engineering Sr. Director and the right candidate will provide strong strategic and tactical thought leadership backed with a proven track record of successful execution and subject expertise to drive operational excellence and growth of manufacturing operations.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Establish and oversee the manufacturing system test development and execution including test procedures, test scripts, etc.
  • Establish and oversee PCBA manufacturing test development and execution including test procedures, test scripts, etc.
  • Fully support FA efforts to address specific and systematic failures associated product design, process design or manufacturing.
  • Work with development engineering to ensure requirements for manufacturing and testing components, systems and products at scale are enabled.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing including hands-on debug of test systems
  • Liaise with component suppliers or contract manufacturer to implement product testing criteria, fixtures, and specifications.
  • Drive strategy for optimization of manufacturing processes and efficiencies
  • Establish effective performance management system to ensure timely delivery of products
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Engineering, and other Operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of products and mitigation of any potential risks or disruptions to supply
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards promoting a culture of safety throughout manufacturing operations
Qualifications for this role include:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a relevant technical field
  • 8+ years relevant experience with previous roles showing progressively increasing responsibility over systems, methods, and scope of projects.
  • Ability to design, automate, and maintain test equipment used for Engineering Design Test Verification, Qualification Validation, and Manufacturing Product Validation
  • Ability to develop requirements, specifications, plans, procedures, and reports for test system development and product qualification, verification, and validation
  • Ability to design test fixtures as needed. Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar drawing/design software skills a plus
  • Ability to carry out detailed Test Systems design work including 3D modeling, simulation and design verification testing, as required
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Experience designing, building and operating testing fixtures and equipment for controls systems
  • Experience of PCB design and assembly for test fixtures
  • Experience designing, building and operating testing scripts
  • Experience in developing tests for automatic execution
  • Experience with LabView
  • Must bring curiosity, a willingness to be hands-on, professionalism, a positive attitude and a focus on problem solving
Additional qualifications below are a plus:
  • Experience in establishing facilities, mechanical manufacturing, and test processes
  • Previous experience in metal machining equipment, mechanical processing, metal cleans/degreasing, and mechanical/electrical assembly operations.
  • Previous experience with Facilities and utility-based systems including, HVAC, chilled water, electrical distribution, CDA, environmental safety, and fire systems.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing principles, process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent leadership and team interface skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to manufacturing operations
  • Professional certification in one or more related fields of expertise is also helpful, but not required.
