Hiring a Phlebotomist in NY!

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist with over 2 years of recent experience in phlebotomy. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using straight needles and butterfly needles for pediatric patients. Strong communication skills, reliability, and punctuality are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, and recording maintenance data.
  • Decontaminating and updating patient information.
  • Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures.
  • Explaining the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
  • Demonstrating techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
  • Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
  • Labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders.
  • Checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Packaging specimens for transport.
  • Storing specimen samples at required temperatures and in appropriate containers/tubes, accurately labeling, and following specific procedures necessary for transport to maintain specimen integrity.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
  • Proficiency with straight needles and butterfly needles for pediatric patients.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Experience in specimen collection, phlebotomy, blood draw, and venipuncture.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment

Bronx site- handling 60-70 patients daily.

The working hours are as follows:

Full time, Monday-Friday usually 830-530 or 9-5

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
