The Senior Accountant should be a self-starter, knowledgeable of GAAP accounting principles, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with community partners.

Overview of the Senior Accountant role:
Prepare monthly invoices to funders - ensure account receivables are coded correctly and accurately
Update and maintain accounting journal and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, and accounts payable)
Reconcile general ledger accounts and revenue accounts for a complex non-profit organization
Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
Assist with monthly/year-end closing and annual audit prep materials and research
Preferred Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
Strong understanding and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP), and a general understanding of banking procedures and related activities
Keen eye for detail and a dedication to accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of non-profit/restricted fund accounting a plus
