Were recruiting for a Staff Accountant to join our clients team in the construction sector. This role focuses on maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting the financial operations across multiple projects. The ideal Staff Accountant has a background in construction or similar industries and is skilled at managing accounting tasks in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment.
Compensation: $65,000-$73,000/year plus potential project completion bonuses.Location: Berlin, CT (On-site).

Key Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant:
Maintain and update general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and support month-end close processes.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank statements, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
Assist with budget preparation and project costing, providing financial insights for project managers and leadership.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including tracking and recording payments and receipts.
Collaborate with project teams to review budgets, project costs, and variances, ensuring financial accuracy.
Prepare reports for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Track and report on project expenses, providing regular updates to project managers and finance leadership.
Preferred Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant, ideally in construction or related industries.
Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach, especially in a project-driven environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, project managers, and internal teams, building solid professional relationships.
