Major Responsibilities
Under supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgement, assist the Borough Commissioner and Chief of Staff with administrative functions. Assist with special Events including the creation of invitations and fliers, community and elected official outreach, program and speech preparation. Manage special projects including coordination, note taking, follow up, and filing. Open, draft, track, distribute, finalize and respond to correspondence. Research, write, and create presentations, reports and speeches. Prepare briefings, attend, take notes, and follow up on Elected Official meetings such as Town Halls. Compile information, conduct research, prepare memoranda, and proofread for accuracy. Coordinate, participate, and follow up in meetings and initiatives related to community outreach and partner groups. Assist with managing databases, information technology, Telecommunication, and record retention as needed. Answer phones and help schedule appointments and meetings when necessary for the Borough Commissioner and Chief of Staff. How to Apply

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above. Preferred Skills
Strong Writing Experience. Attention to detail, professionalism while handling sensitive information and strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills. A minimum of two years customer service experience. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Access. Ability to handle a large workload with a variety of deadlines while working in both office and field settings and in various weather conditions. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Valid New York State driver license. Public Service Loan Forgiveness
