Microbiology and Immunology - Faculty Position (Ladder Rank) - Assistant Professor SCHOOL OF MEDICINE - Microbiology and Immunology Description The Department of Microbiology and Immunology seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking a creative and visionary investigator employing cutting-edge approaches to join the Integrative Microbiology (I-Micro) program, which includes a focus in the broadly defined areas of Microbiology, Microbial Pathogenesis and Host Response, Virology, and Innate Immunity. The vibrant I-Micro program spans both the Parnassus and Mission Bay campuses of UCSF. Research space will be at the Mission Bay campus, embedded in a dynamic and interactive community of labs. Candidates are expected to hold a PhD and/or M.D. degree at time of appointment (CV must list pending degree), and to have demonstrated significant potential in their field. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic and interactive research program and to excel at teaching. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in our many diverse graduate programs, including but not limited to Biomedical Sciences (BMS), and Tetrad (Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Biophysics, Genetics). Applicants should submit their curriculum vitae, a 1-page summary of research accomplishments, a 1-2-page description of future research plans, a summary of contributions to diversity/equity/inclusion, and a statement of teaching. Copies of major publications may be included. Applicants should request three contacts to provide letters of recommendation upon request. Applicants must meet requirements by the time of appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $118,000-$153,000.
