is seeking a
Program Analyst I
in Washington, D.C. (Hybrid). The selected candidate will be supporting the Dept. of State Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT). Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Administrative Support
Maintain and coordinate CT/P Director’s and Deputy Director’s calendars and office schedules. Work closely with CT/P leadership to schedule appointments and arrange meetings, ensuring guests are cleared into the building and escorted as needed. Screen visitors and incoming correspondence for CT/P leadership. Coordinate personnel and administrative forms for the office and forward completed personnel and other records to appropriate office for processing, following up as necessary.
Document Preparation, Review, Coordination and Storage
Assist assigned staff in coordinating the production of information and materials (e.g., written policy guidance, strategy, information and action memoranda, texts of speeches and articles, congressional testimony, talking points, and background information). Assist with the preparation and proofreading of reports, presentations, and other office documents as assigned by senior managers. Perform basic Excel data processing and, as appropriate, work with staff members to prepare PowerPoint presentations and other presentations as necessary. Draft and, with government manager approval, coordinate arrangements for conferences and meetings and assemble established background materials, as directed.
Program Support
Assist in drafting reports and responses to congressional inquiries on counterterrorism programming, on the efficacy of specific programs, and on how the programming specifically addresses gaps in partner host government capacity. Compile relevant data and stories of program outcomes to share with Congress, Department leadership, the interagency, and other stakeholders. Assist with grants and Interagency Agreement (IAA) closeouts; serve as CT/P point of contact on reclassification process, including drafting documents, tracking and reporting on status, and advising team on processes. Manage portfolio of 1-2 projects, under guidance and supervision of Deputy Director or Team Lead. Assist with the assessment of efficacy of programs in assigned country/region to inform CT principals in preparation for the APR.
Basic Qualifications: Active Top Secret clearance Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university 2 - 3 Years of work experience in areas similar to those of the duties and responsibilities Excellent customer service and multi-tasking skills Strong oral and written communications skills and tact when interfacing with other offices, individuals, and institutions Intermediate knowledge of and experience with the Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn use of Department, bureau, or office databases as required Desired Skills: Familiarity with basic foreign policy and foreign assistance principles is preferred Familiarity with a variety of computer systems, including travel system, preferred
