No Duties and Responsibilities
Summary:
The Director of Law School Technology reports to the Law School Associate Dean for Administration and is responsible for providing leadership and strategic vision in managing the Law School's information technology. The Director ensures that the Law School Computing Services (LSCS) team delivers efficient and effective technical support services to Law School students, staff, and faculty. The Director is a strategic partner with the Law School Dean's Office and collaborates with senior leadership to establish the strategic vision, priorities, and goals. The Director will lead and supervise the Law Technology team that supports approximately 250 staff and faculty and over 950 students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The Director collaborates with senior leadership to establish the strategic vision, priorities, and goals for Law School technology. Leads the Law Technology team with planning, development, implementation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of Law school desktop and server hardware and software systems. Oversees the Law Technology team who provide user support processing day to day service requests and technology support for Law students, staff and faculty. Provides leadership for planning, researching and evaluating new technology, budgeting, and implementing Law School information technology resources. Manages activities related to the Law Laptop Final Exam process, collaborating with the Law School administration. Oversees the Law Technology team with development, implementation, upgrades, maintenance, and user support for the Law School's AV systems. Conducts regular technology audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement. Leads and facilitates technology training sessions and workshops for Law School faculty, staff, and students. Responsible for managing the Law Technology budget and approving all Law technology purchases. Develops and maintains relationships with external IT and AV vendors. Ensures compliance with the University's policies related to data management and cybersecurity. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field. 7+ years of experience managing an IT department or work experience in a related discipline. 5+ years of technical hands-on experience with IT and AV hardware and software systems. Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management. Experience with computing systems management and IT leadership in a complex environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent analytical and management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Experience with hardware and software systems, security, networks, and systems administration. Ability to communicate across all levels, from technical teams to leadership. Supervisory Responsibilities
