As a Principal, Data Scientist, you will spearhead analytics within Walmart's US Marketing team, providing insights and optimization opportunities to marketers, managers, and senior leaders. You'll develop a comprehensive understanding of how marketing channels and business strategies drive customer engagement and sales. Collaborating with Performance Marketing, Brand Marketing, Data Engineering, Category Marketing, Merchandising, and Finance, you will integrate data-driven decision-making into our marketing strategy. This highly visible role at Walmart offers the opportunity to significantly impact the entire organization. You will report to the Director of Data Science. Minimum Qualifications: Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field. 3+ years of experience in Retail Analytics, Digital Analytics, or eCommerce Analytics. 2+ years of experience leading teams and influencing Product, Finance, Business Operations and Engineering. You will make an impact by: Optimize Walmart's marketing investment by designing marketing measurement models. Establish respectful cross-team relationships and align stakeholders' views with analytical insights. Identify and leverage opportunities for advanced analytics. Collaborate with Data Enablement and Tech teams on analytics data pipeline requirements. Promote an analytical mindset among Marketing partners through tool development and training. Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related field. 9 years' experience in data science, machine learning, optimization models, or related field. 7 years’ experience using open-source learning frameworks (for example, Scikit Learn, TensorFlow, Torch). This is not a remote role, you must live within driving distance to one of our hubs: Bentonville, AR, Hoboken, NJ or San Bruno, CA and spend the majority of your work week in the office.
