Position Overview: The Senior Director of Achievement plays a pivotal role in setting and advancing the academic vision for KIPP Kansas City. Responsible for overseeing school leaders, this role ensures that all schools meet ambitious goals for student achievement and growth. The Senior Director will lead efforts to improve instructional practices, strengthen school culture, and build leadership capacity among principals to deliver exceptional educational experiences for all students. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Vision Develop and communicate a clear academic vision and strategy that aligns with KIPP Kansas City’s mission, vision, and values. Partner with school leaders to set and maintain high standards for instructional quality, student achievement, and school culture. Build and maintain a shared commitment to closing achievement gaps, advancing equity, and promoting inclusive excellence across schools. Instructional Excellence and Data-Driven Practices Oversee the implementation of rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and high-impact instructional strategies across schools. Partner with school leaders to analyze student achievement data and use insights to drive continuous improvement in instruction and student outcomes. Lead the creation and monitoring of data-driven action plans to address gaps in achievement and maximize student growth. Culture of High Expectations and Equity Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that aligns with KIPP Kansas City’s values, promoting academic and behavioral excellence. Work with school leaders to establish a supportive and challenging environment that encourages student engagement, resilience, and motivation. Ensure equitable access to resources and support for all students, including those with diverse learning needs and backgrounds. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration Serve as a primary point of contact for school leaders, fostering clear and consistent communication between schools and the regional office. Collaborate with families, staff, and the KIPP Kansas City leadership team to ensure alignment of academic priorities and support initiatives. Engage with external stakeholders, including community organizations and educational partners, to strengthen support for school goals and student success. Accountability and Compliance Oversee school compliance with KIPP Kansas City’s policies, as well as state and federal education standards. Support school leaders in developing and implementing accountability measures to track and report on school performance metrics. Monitor and report on the progress of school initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability in achieving academic goals. Qualifications
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, with at least 3 years in a school leadership role (e.g., principal, instructional leader) and experience in directly supervising school leaders. Relevant licensure or certification preferred. Reports to work Monday-Friday and some weekends. A typical school or office environment with frequent interruptions. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to work location.
