The Director of Training will spend 60% of their time dedicated to training, research, and administration and 40% on clinical practice. Position Description
Training, Research, and Administration (60%) We have identified the need to develop training programs around LGBTQ health, mental health, and wellbeing. Given ISGMH's expertise and background, we can help future health and mental health workers and practitioners, as well as frontline community organizations, be better prepared and knowledgeable of the needs and vulnerabilities of LGBTQ individuals and communities. This background work will lead to the development of accessible trainings on a range of LGBTQ-related health, mental health, and wellbeing topics. The range of trainings will be provided via multiple formats to meet the needs of health and mental health workers and practitioners and their organizations or agencies. Additionally, the Director of Training will expand upon other grant-funded initiatives in ISGMH that have training components whose audiences are health and mental health workers and practitioners, social services and nonprofit organizations, and graduate and postdoctoral level trainees. Specifically, these include the Implementation Science Coordination Initiative (ISCI), the Sociostructural Implementation Science Coordination Initiative (SISCI), and the Summer Intensive Program in Intersectional BIPOC SGM-focused HIV Science. Clinical Practice (40%) Primary clinical responsibilities include providing science-based psychological assessment and treatment for adult outpatients with all categories of psychiatric disorders, with a particular emphasis on providing care to diverse individuals who are LGBTQ.
