Job Title: Equipment Technician

Job Description

These positions are located in the Lac location where you will assemble a variety of equipment. The Assembly Mechanic/ Installer position involves assembling components and parts into a completed product following work orders, blueprints, schematics, and other written and verbal specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Set up the job by locating parts and gathering materials according to the work order.
  • Layout and position wire harnesses, subassemblies, and hoses according to prints.
  • Align, position, and assemble components using hand tools, including impacts and torque tools.
  • Install moving parts such as engines, clutches, pumps, hoses, and bearings.
  • Install plows, wings, and underbody scrapers. May install dump bodies and salting equipment.
  • Drill, tap, or ream holes as necessary.
  • Fabricate and weld parts as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Electrical assembly
  • Mechanical assembly
  • Hydraulics
  • Strong diesel mechanic experience
  • Heavy equipment experience/repair
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly instructions
  • Basic understanding of metal product assembly techniques
  • Basic math skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with diesel engines/diesel mechanic/heavy equipment operator
  • Ability to perform basic measurements using tape measure, protractor, and other measuring devices

Work Environment

The hours are 6am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday. Work is performed in a non-climate controlled metal manufacturing production environment, with frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing in and around metal fabricated parts. Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of 50 pounds alone, and more than 60 pounds with assistance. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to identify required parts and operate production assembly equipment (i.e., hand tools, power tools, forklift truck, etc.).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
