Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at TDS is to save lives through organ and tissue donation, and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We want people to join our team in the role of Tissue Recovery Technician to coordinate the technical aspects of recovering donated human tissue. COMPANY OVERVIEW AND MISSION Tennessee Donor Services is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) within the state of Tennessee – and is a member of the DCI Donor Services family. For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities. DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank. Our performance is measured by the way we serve donor families and recipients. Below are some of the key accountabilities/qualifications this position will hold: The Tissue Recovery Technicians work around the clock as a team in the recovery of human tissue as a vital part of the donation process. The Tissue Recovery Technicians will participate in the recovery, packaging, and labeling of human tissue. The recovery consists of cleaning and setting up the recovery room, surgical prep of the donor, aseptic recovery of human tissue, restoration of the donor, and decontamination of the recovery room and instruments. Training is a combination of instructor conducted didactic wet labs, the completion of training modules, and active training. Being a part of a team that is able to honor a donor’s gift of donation is rewarding and fulfilling! The schedule for this position is 24 hour on-call shifts. You will only be reporting in when there is case activity. **New employees must have their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by their potential start date or be able to supply proof of vaccination.**
We offer a competitive compensation package including:
Starting Pay: $21.00 for Tissue Technician I. Opportunity to advance Technician Levels within 12 months with an increase of pay at each level.
Technician II: $21.75 Technician III: $23.50 Technician IV: $24.50 Technician V: $25.50
