About the Opportunity:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs assessment, by obtaining patient medical and social histories, and by performing diagnostic testing and taking vital signs.
- Evaluate signs and symptoms of patients and order diagnostic tests.
- Interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Monitors and reviews patient care and treatment plans, which may include nutrition and exercise plans.
- Provides education and counseling of patients and family in preventive care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatments and drugs.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as needed.
- Participates in quality assurance activities.
- Refers patients to physicians or other health care providers and facilities as needed and monitors the outcome of the referral.
- Provide on-call coverage for evenings and weekends as needed.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
