Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with 3-5 years of experience in heavy and light civil construction, specifically in earthworks and underground projects. The ideal candidate can be a Professional Engineer (PE) or someone looking to transition into estimating. Familiarity with the HCSS 'Bid to Win' estimating program is required. This role involves working on projects ranging from $500k to $5 million, including DOT Municipalities and asphalt projects. A degree is not necessary, and we are open to both local and out-of-town candidates.
Responsibilities:
Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to meet corporate profitability goals.
Coordinate with all Superintendents to establish a budget.
Lead estimating efforts on integrated projects to ensure an accurate and consistent bid-to-build process.
Coordinate efforts with the project sponsor and manager of construction to manage resources and meet the project schedule.
Participate in bid review and closing to ensure bid accuracy and evaluate project feasibility; develop bid schedule.
Provide an environment where dynamic project communication occurs between Foremen, Superintendents, and construction managers to ensure work is accomplished efficiently, profitably, and safely.
Ensure proper job controls, i.e., quantities, costs, revenue, and schedule.
Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with the client base.
Ensure accurate construction reports for the job, allowing for continuous performance improvement.
Must-Have Skills:
Experience in heavy and light civil construction (earthworks/underground).
Proficiency in using the HCSS 'Bid to Win' estimating program.
Skills in estimation, construction, and asphalt.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting.
