Project Manager

to lead MEPS Infrastructure teams developing power systems studies including, but not limited to load flow, fault current, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash.

Role includes interfacing both with internal client managers and marketing directly to external clients/owners.

The successful candidate should have experience in power system studies as well as specifying, designing, and implementing electrical power systems. Passion for power systems studies and electrical safety is a must.

Dewberry has one of the strongest electrical team in Raleigh area with over 30 electrical design professionals. You will be joining a team of highly skilled, experience, and dedicated electrical professionals focus on designing the electrical infrastructure that interconnects your healthcare, higher education, and federal campuses. At Dewberry you will develop your technical knowledge in microgrids, medium voltage distribution, SCADA, and power system studies as you execute a full range of services to our national clients. As part of the MEPS Infrastructure electrical team you will shape the impact renewable energy is utilized by our client in meeting their decarbonization and electrification goals. Your design will combine co-generation, solar generation, battery energy store systems, and complex control system to improve the reliability of our nation’s infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Manage power systems studies teams for a variety of public and private clients in the industrial, healthcare, higher education, and water/wastewater markets.

Manage fieldwork, modeling, and implementation phase projects while interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and specialists where required.

Coordinate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule, plan and assign appropriate personnel.

Effectively understand and communicate project expectations to MEPS Infrastructure project team and Client (both internal and external).

Prepare engineering service proposals, support project pursuits, and engage in client management and business development activities.

Employ earned value and quality management principles to prepare and monitor project work plans, schedule, and budget. Oversee deliverable submission and ensure coordination through all disciplines and consultants involved.

Contribute to the continued growth of MEPS Infrastructure through attending conferences, supporting articles professional publications, and actively participating in State and/or National professional associations through committee involvement and technical presentations.

Required Skills & Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

7+ years of progressive design and project management experience, minimum 2+ years performing power system studies.

Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in North Carolina, Virginia, or ability to obtain them through reciprocity within 90 days of start date.

Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.

Experience interfacing with clients.

Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Well organized, with good understanding of electrical power system equipment, applicable codes, national standards, and electrical safety.
