The opportunity

The Ernst & Young (EY) Government & Public Sector (GPS) is helping organizations solve complex problems through purpose-led transformation. Your key responsibilities

As a Personnel Security Specialist, you will be responsible for:

Digitize paper mail and route to appropriate SECCEN team or electronic document folder

Scan paper records with a temporary disposition using the scanning hardware and software provided by the Government, ensuring that each page within the record scans accurately, IAW DCMS-34 process guides

Perform quality review the scan and file or destroy the paper version per DCMS-34 procedures and Federal Records Management Schedule

Move the digital document to the appropriate case or file storage location, once confirmed as an accurate copy, following DCMS-34 procedures, and update any required system tracking status

In addition to your client responsibilities, you will also be expected to fulfil senior-level responsibilities within the firm. EY senior support people-related initiatives, including recruiting events and interview nights. Senior are also expected to support and participate in internal, firm activities, including training programs and courses in order to stay current on training requirements and continuously improve technical skills. Lastly, you will be expected to understand and follow all workplace policies and procedures, including all applicable Independence policies.

Skills and attributes for success

You will ideally have previous exposure to technology consulting, and a keen interest in advising the US government and Public sector. You should have strong communication skills, and business and technology acumen, and have a passion for delivering value to our clients.

To qualify for the role you must have

7 years of previous experience adjudicating personnel security background investigations for eligibility and suitability for federal government employment

Bachelors degree required

Ability to work on tight deadlines

Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook Theoretical and practical project management knowledge

Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities

Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher, which will be driven by the engagement requirement

Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.

Ideally, you’ll also have

Masters degree preferred

Expertise in developing written and visual communication products

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to collaborate with clients and identify engagement follow-on opportunities
