Business Development / Program Manager - Utilities (Bay Area)

Responsibilities include functioning as a leader in our utility space in an effort to develop and implement growth opportunities within and between our organizations. This is a seller-doer role and the long-term position will require inter-disciplinary coordination of design &/or project management activities, quality assurance of client deliverables, coordination with procurement, construction, project controls and client personnel. Expected to have a thorough knowledge of established procedures and metrics. The Program Manager works with the various client managers in maintaining the varied project logs and technical records, such as value plus, critical action item list, etc. Position requires the exercise of discretion and judgment in the coordination of project operation. Assignments are carried out as directed by a client Program Manager. Duties include:
Support early Technical Program Development
Identifying new prospects and market opportunities; Grow our Utility Practice
Forming partnerships with key partners and vendors
Creating new products or services to meet client objectives
Governance, risk and change management
Technical aspects of Project Execution (Technical QA)
Assess gaps/challenges to recommend solutions for client growth
Interface with Client Technical Staff and client program management
Address Construction & Design Technical Issues
Monitor and ensure delivery of budgeted GM for portfolio of projects while enhancing GM results through focus on delivering consistent predictable outcomes
Participate in and review proposals and pricing documents
Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, protocols, and appropriate use of all mandated project tools
Provide resource loading, overseeing engagement, and performance of PMs
Assist PMs and Client Account Managers (CAMs) with Client management and satisfaction

PgM Job Requirements
BS Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical preferred, other engineering degrees considered
PE preferred, PMP a plus
Broad background in electric distribution and transmission is desired; experience in grid reliability, VPP, EV a major plus
Preferred direct experience of design and construction of electric distribution, transmission and facilities
Program Management experience is desired
Business Development experience is desired
Minimum 8+ years of project management experience
Prefer 8+ years of program management experience

Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with ongoing feedback
Ability to present orally, in writing and remotely
Previous experience in acquiring work from electric utility clients
Direct experience responding to RFPs
