Up to 30% (both domestically and internationally) EXPECTED PAY RANGE:
$93,890 - $129,099 annually This pay range is for the position's base pay only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and/or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process. POSITION SUMMARY The Technical Support Engineer I (TSE) is highly skilled in specific toolset models or multiple product lines. The position directly assists with communications within the company and as assigned with external customers. The TSE will support efforts to coordinate field activity as needed. The TSE is expected to provide training to all employee levels within the organization and contribute to the development of concepts and techniques in effective and creative ways. TSE's must have the ability to technically supervise problems and/or schedule the work activities of other Field Service Engineers and/or Technical Support workers. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Interface with on-site service engineers in the troubleshooting and resolution of more complex problems requiring advanced levels of knowledge and experience Conduct ongoing OJT and classroom training, as required Act as a lead engineer in the first-time installation of newly introduced instruments, ensuring that proper techniques and procedures are passed to the local service personnel installing the instruments. Supply proper communications and reports to the factory design group regarding problems and issues seen by the HTA Service Department Maintain the highest possible technical knowledge level for the assigned instruments Willingness to work weekends, nights, or other shifts as assigned required to meet customer or company business requirements Willingness to travel domestically and overseas, as necessary to perform position responsibilities Demonstrate willingness to participate in the administration of the service department by working with special assignments that require technical input. (i.e. spare parts selection, training programs, service procedures, etc.) Demonstrate strong work ethic. (On time to work and training, on time completion of assignments, well prepared for work assignment, effective teamwork, etc.) Maintain appropriate records of all work performed and training received Comply and adhere to company policies Must have and retain valid driver's license in resident State. Must be insurable by HTA's insurance carrier Must be eligible for and receive company credit card Portray professionalism and pride in appearance while conforming to company dress policy Complete assigned formal training with a grade of 70 or more on all tests Complete assigned on-the-job-training (OJT) with the goal of process certification Manage and maintain any traveling inventory according to department policy and procedure Protect and maintain company property. (i.e. traveling inventory, company car, test equipment, tools, computers, etc.) Set and keep appropriate schedules for service on the assigned equipment Perform other duties as assigned EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience EXPERIENCE and TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Five (5) or more years of direct experience servicing the instrumentation handled by HTA or the combination of two (2) or more years of direct experience servicing the instrumentation handled by HTA and specific, specialized factory training Up to 30% travel on average (domestic & international) Requires experience disassembling and assembling intricate parts KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS Ability to work from schematics using various test equipment and mathematical calculations specific to electronics is required Ability to effectively interface with customers, both internal and external Solid electronics and mechanical skills are required Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry as applied to our equipment Requires equipment specific operational skills Requires ability to train less experienced engineers in on-the-job-training (OJT) and classroom environments Requires ability to maintain field service role as well as, perform new support functions as assigned Requires ability to fill the role of a leader in the department Ability to work with multifunctional groups towards completion of a common goal Ability to provide preventive maintenance and emergency service on the equipment within the assigned territory or assigned customer Ability to install and test the assigned equipment at the customer site Ability to train less experienced engineers with OJT and classroom training PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Vision (i.e. the ability to see small objects within a confined area) The ability to identify and distinguish color codes The ability to quickly transport from location to location (i.e. air, car, etc.) The ability to transport parts and tool box from car to equipment site (approx. 50 pounds) Hand eye coordination at a level to support activities with very fine (delicate) to large, leveraged type items The ability to communicate and receive communication via telephone and/or computer Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE)-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities If you require reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employee selection process, please direct your inquiries to
