Carbon Management Advisor
Location: Weston, Massachusetts (On-Site)
Vanguard Renewables is a leading developer and operator of anaerobic digesters in the U.S., converting organic waste and manure into renewable energy. With over 40 projects in 16 states, we’re rapidly expanding into new markets, bringing innovative renewable energy solutions nationwide.
The Carbon Management Advisor will play a critical role in assessing and managing Vanguard’s carbon intensity and renewable energy projects. You will perform due diligence on carbon projects, design quality monitoring systems, oversee renewable energy and low-carbon initiatives, and support ESG data management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
RNG Output Support : Interpret technical measurements, manage CI reports, support low-carbon fuel transactions, and develop innovative products. Project Due Diligence : Conduct in-depth analysis on nature-based carbon projects, including scientific research and quantitative analytics. Quality Monitoring : Design, execute, and monitor quality reporting systems across diverse carbon projects. ESG & Data Management : Support Vanguard’s ESG reporting and data needs. Clean Fuels Regulations Expertise : Develop expertise in RFS, LCFS, CFP, and related regulations. Data Analysis & Reporting : Conduct life-cycle analysis, manage CI reporting, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Stakeholder Communication : Share technical information through written, visual, and verbal presentations. Process Optimization : Improve Vanguard’s CI measurement accuracy, timeliness, and cost-efficiency. Market Research : Conduct market analysis to align with company priorities.
Minimum Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in economics, agricultural science, biometrics, analytics, or a related field. Experience : At least 5 years in voluntary carbon markets, engineering, environmental policy, or compliance. Technical Skills : Knowledge of carbon crediting methodologies, CI modeling, and biofuel production processes. Communication : Strong verbal and written skills, with experience in report writing and data analysis. Clean Fuels Regulations : Knowledge of RFS, LCFS, and other related regulations. Other Skills : Advanced Microsoft Office skills, experience with carbon modeling tools (e.g., GREET, GH Genius), and strong analytical and organizational skills.
