POSITION OVERVIEW The Project Manager is responsible for the oversight of various projects including developing bids/estimates; maintaining operational aspects in line with the budget; managing vehicles, equipment, materials, and tooling; customer relationships; planning and overseeing project start-up and closures, and performing risk management activities to include safety and asset accountability.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Develops positive relationships with customers' personnel and their 3rd party representatives on the site including Project Managers, Schedulers, Project Controls Specialists, and Construction Managers. Develops a positive relationship and collaborates with General Foreman on project issues with regards to budget and scheduling. Collaborates with the General Foreman as well as other departments in the acquisition of tooling, equipment, materials, etc. to complete the project. Coordinates with the General Foreman regarding subcontractors' schedules. Collaborates with the General Foreman and Safety personnel to develop project-specific safety plans; communicate the company's core value of safety and project-specific safety requirements, goals, and objectives; reviews project-specific safety incidents; tracking of all safety-related statistics for the project for submission to and review by the customer; and ensures all safety-related equipment and materials are available at all times on the project. Ensures that all customer communications are documented. Develops project schedules in collaboration with the General Foreman and in compliance with customer requirements, deadlines, and/or milestones; develops mechanisms to track schedule progress in the field; and updates the schedule regularly. Identifies any variances from the baseline and determines appropriate course of action to remedy any schedule slippage in collaboration with the General Foreman. Communicates schedule updates and any schedule slippage remedies to the customer and gains their approval including any compensation component. Develops project budget based on the estimate/proposal including the budget breakdown by task and appropriate tracking units and developing cost codes for tasks/units. Tracks project budget and identifies any over/under budget areas. Collaborate with the General Foreman in determining remedies for any over budget items. Provides forecasts to the customer and participates in forecast/budget meetings as required. Collaborates with the Quality Department in determining project quality metrics and quality metric measuring methods. Tracks and organizes quality metrics from the field for reporting. Reports project quality metrics to Vice President monthly, or more often as required. Participates in any customer required/requested quality meeting, audit, and/or review.

Prepares and distributes completed RFPs for subcontractors. Reviews subcontractor proposals for completeness and scope coverage. Recommends subcontractors for the project. Furnishes information to the Contract Administrator to complete subcontract agreements including scope of work, pricing, and customer-specific requirements. Collaborates with Superintendent to review and approve subcontractor schedules. Integrate subcontractor schedule into the master project schedule. Negotiate and approve subcontract scope changes in accordance with all customer contract requirements (i.e. the prime contract conditions which flow through the subcontract). Breaks down units and completes take-offs. Obtains material pricing based on units. Develops and distributes subcontractor RFPs based on scope of work and develops bid schedule. Completes estimates based on units and bid schedule. Develops RFP deliverables for a complete bid package including safety plans, execution plans, quality plans, environmental plans, and other plans as required by the customer. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the project management. Must have knowledge of the appropriate codes and standards which govern the design and operating requirements for overhead electric. Proven ability to successfully manage assigned projects to meet or exceed project schedule and fee estimate. Ability to identify changes in scope and receive client approval before proceeding with the design work. Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor and interface effectively with assigned staff. Working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software desirable. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Must have a state driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be willing to travel throughout Wisconsin approximately 50% of the time.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT A combination of office work indoors and working outdoors in various weather conditions that are not deemed unworkable (i.e. negative degree weather, lightning storms, tornadoes, etc.).
