Inventory Management Specialist (Secret Cleared)

Connsci is seeking a motivated Inventory Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in advancing our federal client's mission and supporting efforts. This position will serve as a key player within a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), responsible for the analytical management and control of medical supplies and equipment. The incumbent will apply expert knowledge of inventory systems, techniques, and management concepts to regulate and control the level and flow of materials from initial planning through acquisition, storage, issuance, and utilization, ensuring that all processes align with regulatory and operational standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

Integrate management and control of medical supplies and equipment. The work involves a number of processes to include requirements determination, material distribution, procurement authorization, and funds management.

Serve as expert facilitator in all fields of logistics involving medical and nonmedical supplies and services. The incumbent will govern supply procedures and measure supply performance for assigned areas. Serves as key personnel for ordering and receipt process.

Analyze and fill material requirements for assigned areas to include planning and initiating actions to obtain material, determine and set stock levels, and monitor usage activities. Utilize a variety of sophisticated electronic data processing systems to accomplish daily operations.

Serve as an Approving Official and/or Purchase card holder to conduct procurement requirements below the micro-purchase threshold for supplies and services. Reconciles the monthly account information according to regulatory requirements. Remain informed and in compliance with all new supply initiatives including standardization, automated systems, and the procurement programs.

Takes initiative in solving supply management problems and communicating solution to others in the MTF logistics activity. Diligently work with healthcare providers to find best balance of product quality and price. Research available suppliers to ensure that the MTF receives overall best value. Works with vendors to arrange product trials and new product roll outs. Determine proper procurement channels from mandatory sources. Validate invoices against actual procurement requisitions to ensure accuracy of pricing and quantities. Ensure that all material is properly receipted into the automated system and that proper electronic data files are sent for payment.

Material Coordination:

Monitor the status and effectiveness of projects, operations, and programs by identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems. Conduct supply demand studies and participate in supply chain management coordination meetings.

Provide training to new MTF staff members on supply system procedures. Assist with all aspects of logistics support to include familiarization with requesting medical equipment accountability, repair, and equipment acquisition. Coordinate requirements with users and seeks assistance in identifying and locating required items. Resolve user problems associated with obtaining and maintaining stocks. Prepare written analyses of activities and problems with recommendations for solutions.

Utilize complex automation systems for maintenance of acquisition records, reconciliation, and accountability of supplies and equipment.

Inventory Control:

Monitor quality assurance information and conduct quality assurance inspections. Respond to quality assurance issues per regulatory requirements. Perform procurement functions in accordance with laws and regulations as established in the Federal acquisition regulation, Defense federal acquisition regulation, and all other established regulations. Adhere to laws regarding competition, and price. Stay abreast of any changes to laws and regulations effecting procurement.

Order and stock a variety of technical supplies ranging from common administrative and medical support materials through surgical instruments and surgical support equipment. Research acquisition sources and methods; resolve problems associated with timely deliveries and lead times; arrange for disposal of surplus and excess property; and monitor the operations and records of storerooms and distribution points, including stock levels, rates of usage, reorder points, and requests for new items.

Phasing procurements and deliveries and determining best use of funds. Exercise substantially independent authority to establish and revise reorder frequencies; establish stock levels for individual items; and manage assigned items in such a manner as to achieve effective supply support while remaining within authorized funding limits.

The selected candidate will have:

Proficiency in complex automation systems and electronic data processing for inventory management.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve supply chain issues effectively.

Excellent communication and training abilities, with experience in mentoring staff on logistics procedures.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field, with a strong understanding of supply operations and regulations.

Active Secret clearance per Federal Stipulation

Additional Information:

Travel:

May be required to travel between MTFs and other associated locations as part of logistics and inventory management duties.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting and handling supplies and equipment, as well as operating material handling equipment as needed.
