CNC Technician Heraeus Conamic Location Chandler - Arizona Permanent Full Time Summary The primary responsibilities of this position are to load, operate and unload CNC machinery with ceramic semi-finished products. The CNC Technician also ensures the machining production schedule is executed to time, quality and productivity requirements. This role works a 4x10 shift (4-days a week, 10-hours/day). The scheduled shift for this role is Monday - Thursday, 4:30pm - 3:00AM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as required): Responsible for set-up and operating machine tools to create / modify ceramic parts for direct sale to a customer. Set up CNC & industrial machinery and oversee its functioning. Must be able to interpret and use blueprints for specific piece design, as well as calibrate equipment to follow product specifications. Follow strict company and industry safety regulations, as well as a tightly controlled sequence of functions and equipment programming functions. Must be able to communicate effectively with other machinists and supervisors, as well as attend regular training sessions for updates on equipment use. Act as a Cell Lead coordinating day to day activity and provide training to team members on relevant industry processes and equipment operations safety Must be self-sufficient and work well with minimal supervision, and must be able to detect and correct program errors in a timely fashion. Properly and safely load and unload raw materials in CNC machinery, as well as change out tools as required. Must have experience calibrating calipers and micrometers. Ability to use other small tools. Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery. Must be able to report progress to the production supervisor in their department. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma/GED Equivalent 5 plus years CNC experience Computer Literate and Knowledgeable about tools and tooling CNC programming knowledge Fluent in written and spoken English Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without strain and needs to have a Quality First attitude and a strong team spirit to help keep equipment running within process specifications. Must stand for several hours at a time while performing their main job functions Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with all levels within the organization. Excellent communication skills - oral, written, interpersonal. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Internet software, CNC programming expertise, and other software programs to support the manufacturing environment. Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge is a must. Reasoning Ability Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply common sense towards the execution of responsibilities. The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision; must be a self-starter. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
