PRIMARY FUNCTIONS The primary functions include coordinating activities of Manufacturing Department in preparing programs for the machining cells by performing the following duties. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the Major Responsibilities, including the following: Responsible for ensuring quality standards can be met. Participates in preproduction meetings to develop manufacturing process. Analyzes drawings, sketches and design data of part(s) to facilitate the processing of the machining of the part(s). Responsible for maintaining the process developed in the preproduction meeting. Creates and maintains documentation, including but not limited to, tooling lists, set-up sketches and process drawings, to aid the machinist in set-up, prove out, and completion of the part(s). Designs fixturing necessary to the machining of the part(s). Responsible for the meeting time and cost requirements for fixtures, tooling and CNC programs. Responsible for delivery of all designs for fixtures and tooling to the Manufacturing Engineer. Creates CNC program to regulate movement of the machine tool. Responsible for communicating with the Manufacturing Engineer all issues found as the job is being programmed. Supports manufacturing and quality as necessary, providing information required to machine and inspect the part(s), Responsible for working with the Manufacturing Manager and the operator to ensure a quick setup and prove out of the program. Manages multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience using CAD/CAM software. Experience using Esprit, MasterCam and Solidworks preferred. Assists lower level associates, as needed. Works overtime as required. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate degree or Trade School CNC Machining Certificate preferred; or at least seven years machining experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
