SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Shared Services, the primary focus of the Master Data Specialist is to support operations and ensure data integrity within the organization, while adhering to master data management guidelines. This individual will perform and maintain Supplier, Customer and General Ledger account master data records in Microsoft Navision/Oracle, including updates and various other activities for Champion Home Builders sites serviced by the Shared Services team in Troy, MI. The Master Data Specialist will communicate cross-functionally with various teams and stakeholders on a daily basis and must be flexible, organized in managing many requests based on the timing and critical nature of the business needs, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail for accurate data keeping and integrity

RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish and enforce MDM governance policies, procedures, and standards

Develop and maintain a comprehensive MDM strategy in alignment with organizational goals

Lead data quality initiatives to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of master data

Collaborate with data stewards across various business units to standardize data definitions and practices

Create, update, and maintain master data records in ERP system timely and accurately

Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all systems and databases

Complete regular data reconciliations to identify and correct discrepancies

Drive standardization across Shared Services processes by optimizing processes and implementing best practices

Serve as the primary point of contact for master data-related inquiries and issues

Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote data governance awareness

Ensure thorough documentation of key tasks and processes

Ensure all required SOX controls are followed throughout the end-to-end process

Develop and deliver regular reports on master data quality metrics and MDM performance

Utilize data analytics tools to monitor and improve data quality across systems

Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making

Support ad hoc requests from various teams

Support other Master Data roles, when required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelors or Four-year degree required

5+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, or related fields

Ability to multi-task, well organized and a self-starter

Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Ability to interact work cross functionally with employees, suppliers and customers in a professional manner

Microsoft Office skills with particular emphasis on demonstrated proficiency in Excel

Experience with data quality tools and methodologies

Experience with ERP systems (particularly Microsoft Navision and Oracle) is a plus

Experience with Master Data and the Shared Service Environment is a plus
