QUALIFICATIONS: Required A.A. degree or equivalent education or qualifying experience Minimum 2 years' experience working in communications, marketing, or public relations Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel in a diverse environment Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple assignments independently and with high performance standards and consistent follow through Ability to adhere to district policies and protocols with respect to confidentiality and data privacy Preferred Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, photography and/or videography Job-related experience in public school environment POSITION SUMMARY: The Videographer/Visual Communication Specialist, under the direction of the Director of Community Engagement and Communications and in coordination with the Communications Department team members, assists in the development, management and distribution of district-wide communication efforts, especially in the areas of photography, videography and graphic design. This position prepares visual, digital and printed materials and projects that support the district. This position also provides professional quality media products through the district cable access channel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Produces timely, professional and accurate products whether written, graphic or digital Serves as the district photographer and videographer Provides photography support for schools throughout the district, as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement and Communications Provides video/audio recordings of school board meetings and uploads to website Assists in developing high-quality marketing materials; creates layout, artwork and other graphics Proofreads and edits materials for accuracy, consistency, clarity and style before submitting for publication Produce, record, and distribute district Podcast Manages and organizes tasks for marketing and communication opportunities Actively participates in professional development activities by attending training in the areas of technology, social media, design, marketing and education Consistently demonstrates excellent organization, planning and project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and creative thinking and problem-solving skills Demonstrates proficiency in social media tools and superior photography and editing skills for website and social media Provides video recording, editing and production and makes technical and creative decisions for video projects Creates and stores digital files, manages image archives and manages video vault Demonstrates a high level of design and desktop publishing skills; proficiency in AP style and command of grammar, style and sentence structure and spelling Operates camera equipment, lighting systems, sound, on-line professional video systems, computerized graphics system, audio mixing, and demonstrates basic technical knowledge of electrical video equipment Understands the technical needs of broadcasting and troubleshoots technical problems within the professional audio/video equipment Operates broadcasting equipment including cameras, mixers, switchers, computers, document cameras Ability to work a flexible and/or extended yearly schedule, along with working a flexible daily/weekly schedule (occasional evenings may be required) Travels to assigned work sites as needed Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL FACTORS: Frequent: walking, standing, bending, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing All Employees of Saint Cloud Scho l District 742 are responsible to support District goals, to work collaboratively and respectfully with diverse populations of staff, students and parents and to model and promote a welcoming working and learning environment.
