Sr. Accountant

This position will play an integral role in the preparation of the quarterly financial statements for the Company. This individual will also be a key contributor to the growth of the Global Accounting & Reporting Services department by providing a strong professional presence and superior technical accounting and reporting expertise. This position requires cross-brand collaboration to ensure accurate reporting. Additionally, excellent communication is needed as this role will be working closely with corporate groups, including but not limited to Treasury, FP&A, tax and legal.
Essential Functions:
Preparation of the external financial statements on a quarterly basis for SEC filings. This process includes collaborating with corporate groups and communicating with executive management.
Preparation and compilation of disclosure support for the financial statements.
Preparation of memos and work papers supporting the issuance of the financial statements and audit.
Analysis of new accounting standards and their impact on the Company.
Preparation of various schedules and timelines to assist and ensure the timely delivery of the external financial statements
Preparation of various roll forward schedules and the corresponding support schedules
Conduct special projects as needed and identify areas of improvement within our processes to create efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Must be a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification. Preferred but not required.
Professional with 5+ years of experience at a public accounting firm with SEC or similar experience
Previous experience with Oracle Financial Systems, Hyperion Essbase, Workiva, and BlackLine a plus, but not necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Work beyond normal business hours will be required occasionally to support business needs or projects.
Work Location: This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
